On a bright, sunny day, the big, green forest was full of life. A little mouse, with bright eyes and a twitching nose, scurried around, searching for a delicious snack. He was small in size, but his heart was full of energy. As he dashed through the tall grass, he didn't notice a huge, majestic lion sound asleep nearby.

All of a sudden, the little mouse ran right onto the lion's big paw! The lion woke up with a loud roar. He was very angry. "Who is disturbing my nice sleep?" he growled. Then he saw the tiny mouse trembling under his paw.

突然，小老鼠一下子跑到了狮子的大爪子上！狮子一声怒吼，醒了过来。它非常生气。“是谁在打扰我美美的睡眠？”它咆哮道。然后它看到了在它爪子下瑟瑟发抖的小老鼠。

The mouse was so scared. "Please, Mr. Lion," he begged, "don't eat me! I didn't mean to wake you up. If you let me go, I might be able to help you someday." The lion laughed loudly. "You? A little thing like you can't help a big, strong lion like me," he said. But he was in a good mood that day, so he decided to let the mouse go. "Run away, little mouse," he said. "And don't wake me up again!"

小老鼠害怕极了。“求求你，狮子先生，”它哀求道，“别吃我！我不是故意吵醒你的。如果你放了我，说不定有一天我能帮到你。”狮子大声笑了起来。“你？像你这样的小东西可帮不了像我这样强大的狮子。”它说。但那天它心情不错，所以决定放了小老鼠。“快跑吧，小老鼠，”它说，“别再吵醒我了！”

A few days later, the lion was walking in the forest when he got caught in a hunter's net. The net was very strong, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't get out. He roared loudly, but no one came to help.

几天后，狮子在森林里走着，突然被猎人的网给困住了。网非常结实，无论它怎么努力，都挣脱不出来。它大声吼叫，但没有人来帮忙。

Just then, the little mouse heard the lion's roars. He remembered the lion's kindness. So, he quickly ran to where the lion was. When he saw the lion in the net, he said, "Don't worry, Mr. Lion. I'm here to help you." The lion was surprised, but he didn't have much hope.

The little mouse started to bite the ropes of the net with his sharp teeth. It was hard work, but he didn't stop. After a long time, he made a big hole in the net. The lion was finally free!

The lion was very happy and sorry at the same time. He said to the mouse, "I'm so sorry I laughed at you before. I was wrong. You are really a good friend. Small as you are, you saved my life."

狮子既开心又愧疚。它对小老鼠说：“我很抱歉之前嘲笑你。我错了。你真是个好朋友。虽然你个头小，但你救了我的命。”

From then on, the lion and the mouse became good friends. They learned that no matter how big or small you are, everyone can be helpful. And kindness is always rewarded.

从那以后，狮子和小老鼠成了好朋友。他们明白了，无论你是大是小，每个人都能帮上忙。而且善良总会有回报。
